Hammer City Makers is pleased to announce that Hamilton’s third annual “Maker Faire” will take place once again at the Hamilton Museum of Steam & Technology on Sunday June 11th, 2017, from 11 am to 5pm.

Maker Faires are festivals of arts, craft, and invention.   Called “The greatest show and tell on earth”, they bring together educators, hobbyists, engineers, authors, artists, students, and enthusiasts of all ages to show what they have made, and share what they have learned.

It is appropriate that the 2017 Hamilton Maker Faire will take place at the birthplace of industry in Hamilton.  Our city’s deep history of ingenuity, and our growing creative culture will be showcased in the gorgeous 1913 Pumphouse Building. Makers from across southern Ontario will show off interactive ray-gun sculptures, 3D printers, home made arcade cabinets and much more.

Outside, on the museum grounds, student-built robots will show off their battle skills for this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition, and rides will be offered on miniature steam engines. There are surprises in store around every corner!

Keep an eye out for our list of performers, speakers, and demonstrations you can catch on the Woodshed Stage, inside the oldest building on the museum grounds dating to 1857.

Parents and kids will get to mix fun and learning participating in our many free workshops and activities. Food trucks, water stations, picnic areas, and washroom facilities will be provided so visitors can stay all day.
